It’s Leah’s first Halloween so we had to go big or go home. We knew we wanted a group costume that all focused on one theme. I think the natural assumption everyone thought we would choose was Star Wars…so that was out(we will get to you some other Halloween or event though Star Wars, fear not!). John suggested Little Red Riding Hood because of Ringo and we were sold (what a genius, my husband!)! So perfect! And the best part? We didn’t have to dress Ringo up because he hates it. We told my mom and she immediately got to work on the costume. That’s right, she made both Leah and I’s costumes. Way to go, Grandma! I decided to go with a mommy and me version of Red Riding hood this year because I have to take advantage of it while I have the chance, right? Also, who wouldn’t want to wear an awesome hood!? For Halloween weekend my best friend and his family drove up all the way from Miami for the day just to see little Leah. Totally the best friend, ever. He took some pictures of her Saturday since he has a camera (something this mom totally needs to get her hands on because I am a total mamarazzi).
Then on Sunday, we ventured off to Sunken Gardens. I knew the perfect place to get a fairy-tale styled shot. So went, totally sweat our little butts off in hoods and flannel shirts in the Florida Heat. We also received plenty of strange looks from other guests since we were the only ones in costume…but it was so worth it. And so I introduce to you… the reds, the woodsman, and the big bad wolf.
A special appearance by Granny (a totally hip version) and the creator of our costumes:
And now, for the one that inspired this costume…the big, bad wolf.
Happy Halloween, everyone!
